@footballmadesimple I suspect this was the match Pep Adapted the tactic from https://youtu.be/pRlgOBDWUpU
Sure, Pep may have changed a few things but imagine what Inzaghi had to deal with…with a weaker team. Pep also admitted that way to be successful is to get a Messi or a Haaland. Simple. Inter had City's measure. It appeared that Inzaghi coached this game better than Guardiola and with a quarter of the budget. Congrats to City on the win.
Can u do the complete evolution of peps time at city now that they have won the treble
Talk about the failure of City defending all game, Mofo?
Talk about all the missed passes that Inter swept up all game long, you prejudiced, biased Mofoer?
Talk about the money involved in the salaries between the two teams, Mofo!
Feel free how Dhabu City couldn't do jack for the last 25 minutes and Inter laid siege on the goal. 4 full chances in the last 25 minutes is more than City had all game.
But we won't talk about how good Inter were in this game. This is the Peppers Channel right?
This is a load of garbage. Peppers was lucky to win with a ricochet to his player that closed his eyes when he shot the ball.
But this is the Peppers Channel where Tactics is not really discussed. Money is discussed, but never brought up! Inzaghi had the worse team – naturally he didn't have the backing of a whole country willing to break hundreds of laws and rules behind him – he hid his deficiencies and maximized his strengths to put the game that made all the Abu Dhabi fans crap their pants for 90 minutes.
Peppers didn't win this game, his money did. This channel needs a lesson on what tactics are, what a strategy is and why they are used and when.
Plain and simple, Abu Dhabi was supposed to win by 5 at half and they didn't. That means Peppers failed and his money saved him.
Full stop.
imagine inter playing from the days of conte with 3-5-2, which is actually the perfect counter tactic to pep's 3-2-5
Personally like this graphic style edit much more than the touchscreen TV thing.
It's much simpler than you thought: Sponsor money + good lawyer.
I believe Julian Nagelsmann did the 3-1-6 shape also against inter in the group stage even before pep
Great Analysis and I wish you covered Inter’s tactics more too !!!
Inter Milan made effective use of their goalkeeper, Onana, to initiate their attacks with long passes in the middle zone of the field, targeting Dzeko. To create an advantageous situation, they pushed Barella to the right-hand side, aiming to overload Ake . They did the same thing on the left with Calhanoglu overloading Akanji (a 2v1 situation). This forced Gundo and Rodri, the Man City midfielders, to provide cover for their teammates.
As a result of this overload and the consequent need for coverage, Inter created space in the middle zone of the field. Onana, being the skilled passer that he is, capitalized on this space and delivered long passes to Dzeko, who dropped deep to receive the ball. From there, Dzeko had the option to distribute the ball to either Barella or Colhanoglu, who were positioned in support of Martinez, Darmaco, and Damfries, who had already pushed up high to launch attacks.
Anyhow, you just can't win UCL with Lakaka and Martinez.
what is a dynamo? This term was used to refer to Barella in the video at 2:30
Unfortunately Manchester City was the protagonist on this anime
Inter made a lot of mistakes if wasn't that inter would win
I must say that luck was crucial for us in winning this ucl cause Inter were fantastic! I was absolutely seething when I heard all those pundits write off this match before it even started. Like they forgot that Italian teams play big matches like its a matter of life or death.
The goal isn't from Bernardo assist…. Rodrigo luckily finished the chance
I do believe inter tactic are better to look up as they really hold the game more but using little bit less quality tier player. it element are also unique and the team really stepped up in few months. The element of inter tactic are rare and classical defending football mixed with overloading.
The win didn't come down to any changes Pep made; it was just pure luck. Not that City didn't play well but Inter matched them evenly and even hard more aggressions on the goal.
It was rather more of Inter's bad luck cuz Inter had more chances and efforts. Lukaku stopped a goal-bound ball among other instances. I was for ManCity and happy they won even if scrapping to the line but it was more that Inter lost the game than that City won. Pep rode on luck here not game management skills cuz there was nothing else for him to do again.
Pep the best of all time ❤️💙
Pep should thank God that De Bruyne had injury. He was completely marked out because he was the heaviest target of Inter Milan. When Phil came on, he was far underrated and caused them more havoc.
Nice game from Inter.
I have no shame in saying City playedway better against Chelsea in 2021 final than this 2023 final. UCL final is 80% luck!!
If Guardiola gets an 8 , than Inzaghi gets a 9 or 9.5. He was a superior tactician in this game by a mile but City won simple on moment of "brilliance" i.e. money.
what tactics lmao he got battered the whole game the goal itself was just lucky cuz the ball changed direction to rodri because acerbi touched it come on
Stones is so versatile this year, it’s just crazy.
this shows that the wingback system is still tough for pep to beat. city almost experienced shock like they did against chelsea in 2021
It was the first time i saw man city played not that good but lack of finishing from inter ,…anyway congrats man city on your win though.
Been following your analysis for several episodes. Great work and keep it up! 🎉. However, why not consider using more video analysis instead of still images? A slow motion video playback analysis would be really really nice and more comprehensive for us football enthusiasts❤
so good breakdown, and one little suggestion is, maybe it could be more complete video used to provide the analysis.
Our tactics didn't win us the match ,
rodri did !!
Ederson 🙌

He did not change tactics-Inter made his tactics useless-they won by luck ,and by not using the chances by Lakaka also Cslhsnoglu could stop the Rodri shoot!
It was s..ty game, who cares about tactics when we were bored like hell watching it. What a shame, worst spent 90 minutes I ever had.
If you take into account the huge disparities in the value of the players and the manager, Inter did much better than City tactically. City scored during the only spell of time in which they were really controlling the pitch (excellent build-up, fantastic shot by Rodrigo). Credit to Inzaghi for his work.
s.inzaghi was samething else he comes to fianl dzeko, dermian, acerbi and mkhitarian all above 35 age and disasters what a manager👏
