Inter Milan have failed to reach the UEFA Champions League knockout stage for the second time in the last three years after an uninspiring 0-0 draw vs. Shakhtar Donetsk. ESPN FC’s Steve Nicol, Frank Leboeuf, Gab Marcotti and Alejandro Moreno react to the latest failure from Antonio Conte’s men. Marcotti says Conte himself is «full of excuses» and «performances matter,» after the manager tried to blame the referees and Shakhtar’s tactics. Moreno adds that Conte’s stubbornness is a real problem for Inter after the manager waited until the final moments to introduce Alexis Sanchez and Christian Eriksen. The guys also say Alexis Sanchez’s potential game-winning header being blocked by Romelu Lukaku «sums up» Inter’s 2020 UCL season perfectly.

why >>>>>>>because inter are a has been club .>>>>>>>like arsenal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Knockout….so?
Take Rom back to Utd
Conte risking his job.
He gets sacked and becomes arsenal manager after Arteta fails.
Moreno is 100% right, Conte si stubborn, he's like a kid that cannot bear his mistake. Conte is a overrated coach.
Man city lukaku
How can you not blame the referees. Did you see the first leg against shaktar? Lukaku was literally rugby tackled as he was about to shoot from 6 or 7m away from goal on his left foot. Not even exaggerating he was literally rugby tackled to the floor and they didn’t check it? Referee should be locked up for not making that call.
Lukaku is not the problem
Woah woah woah… dont use this music
I do agree with Gab Marcotti about Conte's flaws, but I do like Conte, he's proven to be a good manager, you must admire Conte for making the 3-5-2 / 3-4-3 system fashionable again, and how many managers have used it since for their teams? How many managers are using it now? How many managers won the Premiership with three in the back? I'd like to know the answer to that last one. I personally think had Italy not been knocked out on penalties in the quarter final of EURO 2016, they would have won the tournament too. His closest success to Champions League glory was with Juventus using the 3-5-2 system, and rotating to the 4-4-2 (diamond) system depending on the opposition. It was impressive, they had great victories using either system that season in all campaigns. Inter Milan are currently under development, much like other Serie A teams, and in these circumstances, you've got to be optimistic in defeat. Most of the quality at Inter Milan are the central midfielders, and there are eight players to choose from (Barella, Eriksen, Vidal, Nainggolan, Brosovic, Sensi, Gagliardini and Vecino). If Conte can be versitile for the remaining Serie A/Coppa Italia campaign using his favourable 3-5-2 system, and also rotating the 4-4-2 (diamond) system, much like his successful season 2014-2015 season with Juventus, it will be interesting for Inter Milan's development.
Lukaku was absent, and eliminated inter
This is what you get for taking in rejects haha
Which al de disrespect loekaku
Lukaku is the defender Man Utd miss
Man United sold Lukaku for a reason….well 2 reasons actually…..he never shows up in the really big games and he has a terrible first touch
Conte is the new Wenger a Specialist in Failure he left Juve and Allegri took them to 2 champions league finals left Italy and Mancini has them looking wayyy better no way Inter didn’t have the players to get through a group this bad
To be fair to Inter, they have been drawn in tough groups for the past 3 seasons. But still, they should at least be finishing 2nd or at least 3rd
9:05 Inter lost 2-1 to Barcelona last season not 2-0
Thought from an inter fan,
Conte look what you've just made, everyone is talking about you, everyone realise how stubborn you are and if all over the world they got it, think of how easy is to realise how to counter your play style.
I don't want to talk about eriksen (my favourite player) cos we've all understood that it has became a personal thing.
Say hi to the world Conte, world clASS stubborn coach.
Capello asked '' Why you NEVER have a plan B? ''. Hilarious and spot on, Conte is the most clueless, overrated and waay overpaid coach in football's history!
I am a huge inter fan but conte needs to go
You sign a bunch of players near the career's end and you expect to win trophies? Like seriously, what was the point of buying Ashley Young, Darmian, Kolarov, Vidal etc…you can sign good young players instead and Inter do have the money to buy them.
Poor hakimi
That's 2 years in a row that lukaku screwed up last year he kick the ball in inter net
I feel for Ericssen. He chose to leave Tottenham for Inter… Wow.
Lukaku not a big game striker. Simple.
United and inter belong to Europa League not the champions League the last 5-7 years
Lukaku cost Inter Milan a title for the second time in 4 months?
Lukaku cost Inter Milan a title for the second time in 4 months?
LUKAKU amazing career with INTER:
Scored the Winner for Sevilla in Europa league final
Blocked the Winner for Inter to qualify Shakhtar
Can’t believe some other ESPN “pundits” were comparing Lukaku to Lewa/Kane/Halaand yesterday. Delusional.
Conte has been coming up short in big games since his Juve days. Glad we’re shot of him
This is a great example why Lukaku wasnt good enough in UTD. Its matches like this he needs to step up and be the player that takes them to the next stages.
if these pundits are such good coaches and advisers, especially Fat Gab Marcotti.. I wonder why any club isn't hiring them.. someone should tell these guys that coaching football matches isn't as simple as sitting and talking in front of the camera with big belly.
These pundits are silly inter Milan didn't qualify coz they were not good enough conte is a average coach
Only conte will play 3 cbs when you need a goal! Conte needs to leave
Conte needs to go
why did eriksen choose inter over spurs again?
Basta Conteout
An own goal to deny a cup and a block to deny another possible chance. United fans don't miss this player
Conte’s feeling the heat rn.
I hope this shows people that lukaku is not in the top 5 of strikers. Like they are saying in ESPN
Conte uses a wig … that explains everything
